AFA Antioxidant Facials help to improve a variety of skin conditions like sun damage, uneven texture, pigment irregularities and signs of aging. This facial peel works to exfoliate the skin and remove excess oil and other impurities, without the irritation and dryness that is often experienced with glycolic peels or other AHAs. Available 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 percentage strengths - this AFA Antioxidant peels allow for a truly individualized treatment.
Thoroughly cleanse the face and neck with a non-fragranced cleanser and rinse well with cool water. Do not rub or abrade the skin. Pat dry. Wear non-latex, powder-free gloves while applying the AFA facial and make sure there is no redness or irritated areas prior to applying facial. Start at the periphery of the face and proceed to the center of the face and leave on the skin three to five minutes before rinsing with liberal amounts of cool water. The patient may experience a moderate tingling sensation. An AFA Moisturizer or a non-fragranced moisturizer and makeup may be applied immediately after the facial. Store at room temperature. Keep out of sunlight. Use of non-fragranced sunscreen is recommended.
We recommend a series of 6 consecutive applications, with each application being 1-2 weeks apart for dramatically improved, soft and smooth skin. After this, an ongoing maintenance regimen is encouraged on a monthly basis or according to patient preference. The peels may be used as an adjunct to other in-office procedures such as microdermabrasion, IPL, etc.
